Care A Vanners really do care

A great big thank you to the 15 Care A Vanners who have come from all parts of North America, places like South Padre Island Texas, Washington State, Vermont, and even Ontario, Canada – to help build Tracey Gaudet and family’s home in Long Creek. I was talking to one person who told me that he and his wife spend 8 months of the year touring and building Habitat homes.

Last Friday night, they were treated to a pot luck supper at the KOA campgrounds in Cornwall. And what a spread it was. About fifty people attended, including Tracey and her family and friends, as well as Habitat staff, several Board, Family committee and build committee members.  A great time was had by all.

One of the highlights of the evening was when little Maddie, Tracey’s youngest daughter, presented each CAV with a personalized thank you card that the children had made.

Thanks Care A Vanners. Your name is a fitting one because you really do care.

Karen and I are thrilled to be with you building this home on “the Island”. It’s a long ride from Vermont but not as far as other members of our group have traveled.

  • RGordon says:

Hi, Hank. Good to see you on the build this a.m. Great day for it. Glad you enjoyed that lobster supper.
