In celebration of Canada’s 150th, Habitat for Humanity PEI has teamed with That Fun Place and the town of Rustico to host That Fun Day on July 9th. Attractions will include a large inflatable obstacle course, a bouncy castle, and a bungee run. There will be face painting, a BBQ, snow cones, and a number of other fun surprises.
Habitat Canada is building 150 homes all across the country for Canada’s 150th, and That Fun Day celebrates this project and PEI’s contribution to this incredible project.
That Fun Day will kick off the Habitat for Humanity PEI build in Rustico for the Lowe family, which will also mark our 60th home built on the Island.
“As tiring and overwhelming this process has been, nothing is more gratifying than making something with your own hands. At the end of the day, we are helping build our own home – and that feeling is amazing. It shows my two boys is that if you want something you have to work for it, and that nothing in life is handed to you”, says Deanna Lowe, 2017 Partner Family. “But you can’t do it all on your own either. Habitat brings communities together on their build sites. I volunteered on another family’s build site recently, and so many people from the community showed up to make that build possible. That’s one of the things I love about PEI – we may be small but we’re mighty.”
Help us bring together families and communities to celebrate Habitat for Humanity PEI’s 60th build!
